This is because, according to Government rules, stores larger than 280 square metres must close on Easter Sunday. ![]() However, the majority of its smaller Tesco Extra stores will be opening as normal from 6am to 11pm. On Easter Sunday, all of the larger Tesco superstores will be closed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Its 24-hour sites normally shut at 10pm due to Sunday trading hours. On Saturday, April 8, Tesco stores will be open as usual - this is typically from 6am until midnight for its larger and Express stores, but can vary. Opening hours may differ from store to store, so it is best to check your local Tesco opening times by using its online store locator tool. However, some stores state online they will be closing earlier, with some shutting their doors at 10pm. These hours can vary, however, if they are not 24 hour stores, they should open between 6am or 7am and close as late as midnight. This year Good Friday falls on April 7, and on this day many Tesco stores will open at their normal time. Supermarkets often shake up their opening hours and dates during the Easter holidays and this year is no different. Tesco has over 3,400 stores across the UK, and some of them will be closing this Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
